FAQ
The NCFC is dedicated to fostering a open environment where all discussions flourish. This is especially important where personal financial information is present. Any financial information provided during sessions with the NCFC staff will not be shared.
However, all NCFC team members are considered responsible employees under University Policies 2720 and 2740. Any discrimination, sexual harassment, or sexual misconduct mentioned in a consultation must be reported.
Certainly. We want the appointment to be impactful for you. With your permission, we are happy to offer support and education alongside other people who belong in our meeting.
No. The Center is funded 100% by the Nusenda Credit Union. All services are free to current UNM students.
There is no limit to the number of appointments a student can have at the NCFC. You may meet with us as often as is necessary to address your financial needs.
Please come prepared with any necessary or relevant documents related to your reason for attending (bills, statements, etc.). Additionally, the Center will provide you with additional tools (budget sheets, handouts, etc.). You may also want to come prepared with your preferred way of taking notes, such as a pen and paper or your laptop. We want you to walk away with as much information as possible, so it may benefit you to take notes as the session progresses.
We ask that you give a 24-hour notice should you need to cancel an appointment. In case of emergency, please call or email us as soon as possible. You may email us at cfc@unm.edu or call (505) 277-3361 to reschedule.
The Center is open between 8:00am-5:00pm Monday through Friday. We can address walk-in requests based on availability. However, we highly encourage a scheduled appointment to address your inquiries. You may schedule an appointment at https://goto.unm.edu/cfchelp
We are located in the Dean of Students Office in the University Advisement and Enrichment Center (Building 85) in room 281.
